Latest Troubleshooting Guides
Error E03
Error E03 tells the control board that the freezer temperature sensor is missing, shorted, or sending a signal outside the normal range. The fridge may stop cooling or keep the error on the display, preventing the freezer from reaching its set temperature.
Error 5Y EF
The 5Y EF code tells the control board that the evaporator fan circuit isn’t functioning correctly. The fridge may stop cooling, make a humming or clicking noise, and the freezer can frost up because cold air isn’t being circulated.
Error H2
The H2 code tells the electronic control board that the freezer temperature is above the safe limit. When the sensor detects a warm freezer, the alarm sounds and the fridge may stop cooling to protect food.
Error OP
The OP code tells the fridge’s electronic control board that the temperature sensor (thermistor) has an open circuit. The board cannot read the fridge’s temperature, so it may stop cooling or trigger an alarm.
Error SY CE
The SY CE code means the main control board cannot communicate with the secondary (freezer) board. When the link fails, the compressor and fans stop, so the fridge warms and the ice maker shuts down.
Error SY EF
The SY EF code tells the refrigerator’s electronic control board that the evaporator fan motor isn’t turning. Without fan airflow the freezer and fridge can’t stay cold, leading to warm compartments and ice‑maker issues.
Error d02
The d02 code signals a high temperature alarm in the fridge compartment. The control board has detected that the internal temperature is above the safe range, usually because cooling isn’t happening correctly. If left unchecked, food can spoil and the fridge may shut down to protect its compressor.
Error d01
The d01 code tells the refrigerator’s electronic control board that a door is open when it should be closed. The alarm sounds, the display may flash, and the unit may enter a protective mode to save energy. Ignoring it can waste electricity and cause temperature swings.
Error E02
The E02 code tells the Bosch fridge’s electronic control board that the evaporator fan motor isn’t turning or is drawing too much current. Without a working fan, cold air can’t circulate, so the freezer and fresh‑food compartments warm up quickly.
Error E04
Error E04 means the fridge’s temperature sensor (thermistor) isn’t sending a valid signal to the control board. The board may stop cooling or run the compressor nonstop.
Error E05
The E05 code tells the refrigerator’s electronic control board that the defrost heater circuit isn’t working properly. When the heater can’t melt ice on the evaporator coil, frost builds up and the fridge runs warmer than it should.
Error CF
The CF code tells the fridge’s electronic control board that it cannot talk to the secondary (often the freezer) control board. When the two boards lose communication, the refrigerator may stop cooling, display error codes, or shut down completely. Restoring proper communication is essential for temperature control and ice‑maker operation.
